Meet our Pastor
Rev. James B. Buttram, Jr.
What a great honor it is to Pastor at Red Bank Cumberland Presbyterian Church. This community of faith is the greatest example of what God’s love really looks like. I have found the members of RBCP to be the most supportive, nurturing, and selfless Christians that I have ever had the privilege to serve as Pastor.
RBCP has such a great heritage in the community of Red Bank, dating all the way back to 1870 when it was called Pleasant Hill. It is my prayer that this site will inspire you to connect and visit with us, if you aren’t already a member, and to continue to work together and grow, if you are.
RBCP is my home church. I grew up and was nurtured in my spiritual growth here. I am a second-career Pastor, retiring initially from a successful career as an Organizational Consultant. I served during that time as a lay Pastor in the Cumberland Presbyterian church and the Presbyterian USA church. I also served in youth ministry for almost 30 years in three different denominations.
I am so thankful to the Lord that He called me to be Pastor of this wonderful church. I look forward to all the opportunities we will have as a church and a community to grow together in our faith and service to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
